MCFRS Respond to House Fire Wednesday Afternoon
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to the 23300blk of Frederick Rd., near Stringtown Road in Clarksburg on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the first floor of a single-family house and discovered a fire in the kitchen. All occupants and pets were safely evacuated, with two dogs being sheltered, and no injuries were reported. We will provide an update if additional information becomes available.
SUN: Man tried three times in Phylicia Barnes killing charged with rape in Baltimore Co.
BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (SUN) — Michael Maurice Johnson, previously accused of killing a 16-year-old girl in 2010, is now facing charges of rape in Baltimore County. Baltimore County Police arrested Johnson, 40, of York, Pennsylvania, on charges of first and second-degree rape and first and second-degree assault. A Baltimore County District Court judge ordered him held without bond Tuesday.

Suspect Punches Employee While Trying to Return Stolen Merchandise for Cash
Montgomery County Police have released surveillance images of a suspected wanted in connection to an assault and robbery that occurred last month at a Bethesda Giant. Per the news release: “Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating a strong-arm robbery that occurred on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, inside the Giant Food grocery store in the 7100 block of Arlington Road in Bethesda. Detectives have released surveillance photos of the male suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.
