Dance Moms star Christi Lukaisak arrested for DUI after ‘crashing her car into a tree’

DANCE Moms star Christi Lukasiak Arrested has been charged with a DUI, The U.S. Sun can confirm.

Christi, the mom of original series member Chloe Lukasiak , was arrested in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania on June 27.

The Lifetime star crashed her car into a tree, leaving a telephone pole hanging over the vehicle, according to a police report.

Christi, 47, is set to appear in a preliminary hearing on August 13.

Her eyes were bloodshot and her speech was slurred when police arrived, according to TMZ .

After officers smelled alcohol on her breath, Christi admitted to having two glasses of wine before driving.

Christi starred in the Abby Lee Miller -led reality series for seasons 1 through 4, which took place at Abby’s Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, dance studio at the time.

Dance Moms ran from 2011 until 2019 and featured multiple spinoffs such as Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition and Abby’s Studio Rescue.

Christi and Abby had a tumultuous relationship, with Christi often advocating for what she believed was the unfair treatment of her daughter.

In Season 7, she and her daughter returned to the series for its final episodes apart from Abby’s team.

Chloe and Christi returned once more to film Dance Moms: The Reunion , which aired May 1 on Lifetime.

The special, which featured Christi on video chat, also included fellow OG dance mom Kelly Hyland , the mom of Brooke and Paige Hyland.

Other original members of the show were Melissa Gisoni, the mom of Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler, Holly Frazier, Nia Frazier ‘s mom, and Cathy Stein, who only stayed at Abby’s studio for a short time with her daughter Vivi-Anne Stein.

Newer moms who made a mark on the series included Jessalynn Siwa, the mom of JoJo Siwa ; Jill Vertes, Kendall Vertes’s mom; and Kalani Hilliker’s mom, Kira Girard.

Despite leaving the show earlier than many of the other moms, Christi recently said many of them still keep in touch.

“I have a group chat with all the moms. I talked to some moms more than the others. We all have different personalities, clearly,” she told BuzzFeed in May.

• The series starred Abby Lee Miller as the head dance teacher, with Gianna Martello as a teacher and choreographer.

• The show was centered around Abby’s dance studio in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, later switching to her newer studio in Los Angeles, California.

• Original dance moms included Christi Lukasiak, Melissa Gisoni, Holly Frazier, Kelly Hyland, and Cathy Stein.

• Their daughters were Chloe Lukasiak, Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler, Nia Frazier, Brooke and Paige Hyland, and Vivi-Anne Stein.

• In later episodes of S1, Cathy and her daughter quit Abby’s studio and returned to Cathy’s studio in Ohio.

• Kelly and her daughters left the show in Season 4, and Christi and Chloe left later in the season.

• Melissa and her girls exited the show in Season 6 to focus on other opportunities.

“I speak to Kelly [Hyland] quite a bit still, and we have our podcasts that we do every week.

“That’s been a really interesting journey for the two of us to go back and revisit those old moments and watch them, but I think it’s kind of therapeutic for the two of us to go through it together,” she added.

Christi and Kelly host their weekly Back to the Barre podcast, where they recap Dance Moms episodes and share behind-the-scenes stories.

Kelly and her daughters also left the series during Season 4 after a dangerous altercation at a dance competition.

When it came to filming the 2024 reunion special, Christi’s daughter said she was hoping to get closure from what she faced as a child.

“I wanted to be able to just go and speak my mind and address some of the issues that we never got to talk about before,” Chloe told the outlet.

“It really truly felt like closing the book on Dance Moms, which was good for me. I needed that closure to move on and kind of leave Chloe from Dance Moms in the past and go forward as my own individual self.”
