Westmoreland County man's death was a homicide, police say
The death of a Westmoreland County man following an early July arrest on public drunkenness charges is being investigated as a homicide, Allegheny County police said Monday. West Mifflin Police arrested the 31-year-old man, whom police did not identify, around 3 a.m. July 5 after they responded to a report of an intoxicated man trying to enter a residence near the intersection of Worton Boulevard and Pennsylvania Avenue.

Former Dance Moms star Christi Lukasiak is experiencing some legal woes after she was arrested for DUI last month. According to documents obtained by TMZ, the reality TV star was arrested in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania by Murrysville Police Department officers on June 27 after she crashed her car into a tree. A nearby telephone pole fell over and was seen hanging over her vehicle.
FORMER WESTMORELAND COUNTY DA PASSES AWAY
A Westmoreland County DA who helped prosecute two high-profile cases that involved Indiana County has passed away. Former Westmoreland County District Attorney John Peck of New Kensington died Thursday at a Pittsburgh-area hospital. He started in Westmoreland County’s District Attorney’s office in 1981 and was prosecuting cases as a part-time assistant before he was elected DA in 1994. He left the office at the end of 2021 after he failed to win a re-election bid.
