    Damage reported following severe storm in NE Kansas

    KANSAS ( KSNT ) – Several county emergency management directors are reporting damage following a severe storm that saw winds near 70 mph in northeast Kansas.

    In Jefferson County, Emergency Management Director Keith Jeffers is reporting trees down with some on vehicles and powerlines that have been pulled down onto a house.

    According to Jeffers, the local fire department was dispatched to a power pole and tree on fire in McLouth. Jeffers also reported that power is out in McLouth.

    In Valley Falls, the fire department is reporting power lines down at 1101 Oak Street. Another citizen report for the 12000 block of Blue Mound Road says power lines are down on vehicles.

    Over 11,000 without power in NE Kansas

    In Pottawatomie County, emergency management is reporting that the City of Westmoreland has lost power.
