Troopers Arrest Millsboro Man for Burglary and Felony Theft
Delaware State Police have arrested 30-year-old Wayne Warwick of Millsboro, Delaware, for burglary and theft from vehicles in the Oak Orchard area of Millsboro. On August 24, 2024, at approximately 5:17 p.m., troopers responded to a burglary on the 28000 block of Cherokee Avenue in the Oak Orchard area of Millsboro. When troopers arrived, they learned that an unknown suspect forced entry into a house, but nothing was taken. During the burglary investigation, troopers also learned that between August 23rd and August 24th, an unknown suspect removed and attempted to remove property from unsecured vehicles on Cherokee and Wynikako Avenue. Through investigative means, troopers identified Wayne Warwick as the suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest.

Jayden Spurlin Arrested For Road Rage Incident In Maryland
Jayden Spurlin, 24, was arrested in his Baltimore County home on Thursday night following an investigation into a reported incident earlier this week. According to a Maryland State Police spokesperson, on Wednesday, Aug. 28, a motorist reported that a driver in a black Audi pointed a gun at him during a road rage dispute in the southbound lanes of I-97 near Route 50 in Annapolis.
Wicomico County Jury Convicts Salisbury Man of Rape
SALISBURY, MD - A Wicomico County jury has convicted a Salisbury man of multiple charges including rape, sexual offense, and assault stemming from an incident last August. According to the Office of the State’s Attorney for Wicomico County, on August 23, 2023, JN Karl Felix, 24, asked a victim to help him drop his car off at a mechanic’s shop. Afterwards, prosecutors say Felix took the victim to a friend’s apartment to retrieve keys to another car. Authorities say Felix then began kissing and touching the victim without her consent, and the victim struggled against him and demanded he stop. Felix then overpowered and raped the victim, according to the State’s Attorney’s Office.

Kenyan-owned Swahili Village Fined for Wage Infractions in Newark, Labour Department Reports
The US Department of Labor (DOL) has taken action against Kenyan-owned Swahili Village Bar and Grill in Newark for violating the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The popular downtown restaurant failed to pay overtime wages to 84 employees, including servers, cooks, and bussers, who worked more than 40 hours per week between May 2022 and June 2023. The DOL's investigation uncovered that the restaurant owes $62,335 in overtime wages and an equal amount in liquidated damages to the affected workers. Additionally, Swahili Village Bar and Grill faces $44,100 in civil penalties for these willful violations. Wage and Hour DOL District Director Paula Ruffin emphasizes the importance of holding employers accountable, noting that restaurant workers are particularly vulnerable to wage shortages.

Resort area residents are struggling to find answers after learning that their insurance carriers are dropping policies on their manufactured homes. When Ocean City resident Jaime Strickland and her husband decided to sell their Montego Bay property earlier this summer, they were shocked to discover their buyer could not secure the homeowners insurance required by the mortgage company. After further investigation, she learned insurance companies are choosing not to offer, or to continue, policies on decades-old manufactured homes.
