    DUI checkpoint to be held in Monongalia County next week

    MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — Officials with the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department have announced plans to conduct a DUI checkpoint next week in the Westover area.

    According to a release from the Sheriff’s Department, crews will conduct a checkpoint in the area of U.S. Route 19 on Fairmont Road in Westover on May 29 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. This is the first checkpoint of this type that the department has announced in 2024.

    The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department said in the release that it has a policy in place that details the selection, setup and operation of DUI checkpoints and that this policy will be followed while the department conducts next week’s checkpoint.
