WESTOVER, W.Va. (WBOY) — A man was arrested after allegedly slashing another person with a knife during a dispute at his Westover apartment.

Officers with the Westover Police Department were called to a domestic dispute at an apartment on Dunkard Avenue around 11:30 p.m. on July 1, according to a criminal complaint. Officers said that the victim told them that Frances Demarbieux, 43 of Westover, had “attacked him by throwing a fan at him and slashing him with a knife” that he “discovered underneath the bed.”

The complaint said that the victim had “minor lacerations across his stomach area.”

Demarbieux was arrested and later transported to the North Central Regional Jail. He is facing a felony malicious wounding charge.
