Can Tritons rebound after a subpar season in 2023? Atlantis/Westport football schedule

FALL RIVER — Believe it or not, but Friday Night Football is right around the corner for local area high schools.

The Herald News takes a dive into the upcoming football schedules from the Greater Fall River area, beginning with the Atlantis Charter/Westport co-op team. Last season, the Tritons wanted to build off of their record season in 2022 when they finished 5-4 — a school best.

AC/Westport got off to a hot start, winning its first two games before dropping nine straight, which included a season-ending 26-0 loss to Case in the first inaugural Thanksgiving Day game to finish with a record of 2-9. Three of the Tritons' losses were 14 points or less.

This season's Independant schedule for AC/Westport include the likes of Holbrook, Hull, Bourne, Upper Cape and Cape Cod Tech. The first three games are at home.

2024 Atlantis Charter/Westport football schedule

Week 1 — Thursday, Sept. 5 vs. St. John Paul, 6 p.m.

Week 2 — Thursday, Sept. 12 vs. Keefe Technical, 4:30 p.m.

Week 3 — Thursday, Sept. 19 vs. Minutemen Regional, 6 p.m.

Week 4 — Friday, Sept. 27 at Roxbury Prep, TBA

Week 5 — BYE

Week 6 — Thursday, Oct. 10 vs. Wareham, 7 p.m.

Week 7 — Friday, Oct. 18 at Holbrook, 7:15 p.m.

Week 8 — Saturday, Oct. 26 vs. Cape Cod Regional, 1 p.m.

Week 9 — Saturday, Nov. 2 at Upper Cape, 12 p.m.

Week 10 — Playoff/Non-playoff opponent TBD

Week 11 — Playoff/Non-playoff opponent TBD

Week 12 — Thursday, Nov. 28 vs. Case, 10 a.m.
