Society of Innovators seeks nominations for 2024 awards

The Society of Innovators at Purdue Northwest has opened nominations for this year’s Innovators Awards.

Individual and team award winners will be inducted into the Society of Innovators. The society also willconsider nominees for the Richard C. Sussman Prize for Team Innovation and the John H. Davies Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Advocate for Youth Innovation inductee category is new for 2024. The award recognizes educators and community leaders who are teaching and developing the next generation of innovators in the Region.

“One of the strategic goals of Purdue Northwest is to foster innovation and entrepreneurship,” said Niaz Latif, Purdue Northwest associate vice chancellor for commercialization and research and Society of Innovators executive director, in a press release . “The Society of Innovators plays a critical role in that by shining a light on the successful innovators across our Region.”

Individuals and teams can be nominated using an online application. Anyone who lives or works in Northwest Indiana is eligible. Self-nominations are encouraged. The deadline to submit nominations is Aug. 30. Learn more about the awards and nominations here .

The 2024 Society of Innovators Awards luncheon will take place Nov. 20 at the James B. Dworkin Student Services and Activities Complex on Purdue Northwest’s Westville campus.

Founded 20 years ago, the Society of Innovators discovers, honors and celebrates innovators from across the 7-county Region of Northwest Indiana. The society is dedicated to the idea that anyone can be an innovator and recognizes that innovation is the key to competitiveness in the 21 ^st century.

The Society of Innovators became affiliated with the university as the Society of Innovators at Purdue Northwest in 2018. Purdue University Northwest has campuses in Hammond and Westville. The university serves almost 9,000 students.
