WETHERSFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — A Wethersfield man faces two charges after an investigation of an overdose death in October 2023.

New Haven man sentenced for role in drug trafficking ring in Fair Haven

Jimmy Lassus, 39, was charged with distribution of fentanyl and oxycodone on Wednesday. The decision comes after the death of a 27-year-old woman in Meriden, which was ruled as an overdose.

During the investigation, police discovered drug-related text messages with Lassus leading up to the woman’s death, including messages proving that he had sold her fentanyl. It was determined that her death was caused by multiple substances, including fentanyl.

If convicted, Lassus could face up to 20 years in prison.
