Max Odum named conference player of the week for Wells baseball

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – An Elmira Express baseball grad continues to shine in college baseball.

Max Odum, a senior infielder for Wells College, was named the school’s and Alleghany Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athlete of The Week. Odum had another standout performance at the plate for Wells (8-6) last week.

Max racked up 10 hits while down at the Ripken Experience event in Myrtle Beach, slugging 11 RBI and also scoring 10 runs. In his last six games, Odum is batting a staggering .417, bringing up his season average to .389.

Odum’s numbers have vaulted him once again into the top of the conference in several categories at the plate. Most notably, Max’s 17 RBI is currently third in the AMCC and just one away from the top spot.

Next up for Wells is a schedule doubleheader against Alfred at home Wednesday. Weather permitting, game one is slated for 3 PM with the second game to follow at 5:30 PM.
