Knapp working to be featured in Muscle & Fitness magazine

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – One legendary coach is turning his new passion into a potentially big opportunity.

Elmira’s John Knapp, a retired teacher and baseball coach in the Twin Tiers, is up for Mr. Health and Fitness 2024. The first round of voting ends soon on May 16 at 7 pm.

Knapp will be competing in the senior division category and has transformed his body over the last two years in becoming more fit and healthy. Coach Knapp even participated in a bodybuilding competition this past year in Buffalo.

The ultimate winner will earn $20,000 and be featured in Muscle & Fitness Magazine. Knapp coached the 1995 Corning East High School baseball program to a New York State Championship. He has also worked with hundreds of student-athletes for the past 30 years in becoming better physically and mentally.

Knapp’s recently published book Broken Foundation – Adversity is Not The Destiny reached the top of Amazon.com’s Hot New Release list. Knapp details several coaching stories and life experiences that made him the man he is today.
