SOUTHPORT, N.Y. ( WETM ) — Springtime flowers normally show up later in April. The vibrant colors are very pretty, and there are actual ways to make sure these plants keep coming up year after year!

A certain flower that likes to show up in landscapes is the forget-me-not flower. They typically show up and spread out to look like a sea of flowers. These flowers are seed-driven, which means that once they flower, they have a couple of days before they’re gone. After they’re gone, then you can mow them over since the seeds have already spread out for next year.

Rhododendrons and azaleas are other springtime flowers that need a bit of extra love. Azaleas are a bit shy; they like to be tucked away to avoid the wind. Rhododendrons grow very tall and need to be trimmed to look their best.

It’s important to not get overwhelmed by the plants. With a little care, you can enjoy seeing these flowers pop up every spring!
