WELLSBORO, Pa. ( WETM ) — A Tioga County, Pennsylvania, roadwork project started a new phase in Wellsboro on Tuesday.

According to PennDOT, work began on Route 6 between Route 287 and Charleston Street on July 8. Work on this roadway includes milling, base repairs, a microsurfacing treatment, and line painting.

Crews will work on the road during daylight hours until this portion of the project is completed, and PennDOT did not provide an end date.

The road will be reduced to one lane while crews are working, and flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic.

This week’s roadwork is part of a $4.5 million microsurfacing project on Route 15 in Richmond and Lawrence Townships and Route 6 in Wellsboro. Suit-Kote is the prime contractor.
