STEUBEN COUNTY, N.Y. ( WETM ) – Businesses in Steuben County that have been impacted by the floods from the remnants of Tropical Storm Debby may be eligible for help through a loan program from the Regional Economic Development and Energy Corporation.

Through a partnership between the REDEC and the Steuben County IDA, REDEC’s Steuben County Small Business Redevelopment Loan program will provide up to $30,000 to eligible redemption projects for Steuben County businesses.

Funding will be provided to businesses as a low-interest loan until the clean-up project is completed and the business can reinvest and reopen. After this point, half of the funding will be forgiven. Projects eligible for funding include building cleanup costs; renovations/repairs and the purchase of machinery, equipment, furniture and fixtures.

Funds for this program are being made available with the remaining COVID relief dollars provided to the REDEC by the Steuben County IDA and Steuben County. For more information about the program, business owners should contact REDEC at 607-962-3021.
