Daughters of the American Revolution holds event for veteran appreciation

BATH, N.Y. (WETM) – The Daughters of the American Revolution in the Canisteo Valley held a veteran appreciation event at the Steuben County Fairgrounds.

They started off the event singing the Star Bangled Banner and the Pledge of Allegiance. Then there were a few speakers talking about the struggles of creating this country almost 250 years ago.

The whole point of the event is to remember the bravery of the men and women who have fought for our freedom and to thank a veteran any chance you get and to hear their story.

Closer to the end of the event, a band played all the songs for the different branches of the military. And the event ended with the singing of America The Beautiful.
