Police presence in Athens Township, crime scene confirmed

ATHENS TWP., Pa. ( WETM ) – A police presence has been observed on Thursday morning in Athens Township.

Reports of the police presence came in around 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15. According to an 18 News reporter at the scene, Athens Township Police were spotted off of Shepard Road in Athens Township around noon.

An officer at the scene confirmed with 18 News that the location was a crime scene, but did not specify what was going on at the time. Our reporter at the scene then saw crime tape being put up.
