PA animal shelter seeks participants and vendors for ‘Show Off’ fundraiser

WELLSBORO, Pa. ( WETM ) – Second Chance Animal Sanctuaries is looking for dogs and vendors to participate in its second annual ‘Show Off’ fundraiser this September.

The Show Off fundraiser is an event that consists of a series of competitions for dogs and their owners to compete in. The fundraiser will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Grand Canyon Veterinary Clinic located at 11765 Route 6 in Wellsboro.

Competitions are held in four categories with three to five events each back-to-back throughout the day, all of which lead up to doggie fashion shows at the end of the day. Each event will be individually judged with prizes for the winner.

Registration to participate is $20 for one event before Sept. 1. All who register after Sept. 1 will pay a $25 registration fee for one event. Owners may sign up for additional events for $5 each. Each dog may only participate in up to four events.

The first 50 people to enter the competition will receive an event t-shirt and matching dog bandana, both subject to availability.

In addition to competition participants, the shelter is also looking for vendors to offer dog-related demonstrations or entertainment at the fundraiser. Nonprofit groups or demonstrators can secure a spot for free, but for-profit vendors must pay $20 for a spot.

All proceeds generated from the fundraiser will benefit Second Chance Animal Sanctuaries’ efforts to support and help local dogs and cats. For more information about the event, including where to register to participate in the competition or become a vendor, visit the Second Chance website .
