Southern Tier Veterans Support Group receives $95,000 donation

NICHOLS, N.Y. ( WETM ) — Members of the Southern Tier Veterans Support Group received a donation of more than $95,000 before a concert in Nichols on Friday night.

Tioga Downs Casino Resort announced that its chairman, Jeff Gural, presented a check for $95,680 to representatives from the Southern Tier Veterans Support Group before Ashley McBryde took the stage at Tioga Downs on Aug. 16. The donated funds came from ticket sales from the July 11 Night Rager benefit concert and an equal match from Gural.

“We’re grateful to have the opportunity to bring in great acts while raising funds for amazing nonprofit and charitable organizations throughout the region,” said Gural.

The Southern Tier Veterans Support Group provides resources to veterans, service members, and their families in the Southern Tier of New York and the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania to enhance their physical, emotional, and economic well-being. This nonprofit charity also educates the community on veterans’ needs.
