    Power outages reported in Schuyler and Steuben counties

    SOUTHERN TIER, N.Y. ( WETM ) — More than 1,500 NYSEG customers in Schuyler and Steuben counties lost power on Sunday morning.

    According to the NYSEG outage list, 1,203 customers in Schuyler County and 353 in Steuben County were without power at about 11 a.m. on Aug. 18. Most of the customers that lost power are located in the towns of Tyrone, Orange, and Wayne and are part of one large outage.

    NYSEG’s outage map shows that crews are investigating the outages, and most customers should have power back at about 11:15 a.m. Fifteen customers in the Town of Orange should have power back by 12:15 p.m., and 8 in Caton should have power back by 12:30 p.m.

    NYSEG’s estimated times for power restoration are subject to change. You can check when power is expected back in your area by using NYSEG’s outage map.
