Cloudy Tuesday in the Twin Tiers

Elmira, N.Y. (WETM) – The clouds are going to be stubborn to leave over the next few days. There is an area of low pressure that has been slow to exit thanks to some Ernesto blocking off of the eastern seaboard. This is a change from yesterday’s thinking in that now we will have more clouds and spotty showers hanging out more than we were initially hoping.

I will add some sunshine into the mix in a few days thanks to high pressure. Meanwhile tonight, we will get in on some cloud cover with lows in the low-50s and tomorrow we will keep the low clouds around at least through the day and then try to do better by sunset.

For the rest of the week the sun will indeed be a main feature to start State Fair season and then we do get in on a sunny and drier pattern into next week too. It may start off rainy in Syracuse for the first day of the Great New York State Fair, but then more clearing and nice there later on.
