    Water samples being tested in Tioga County PA

    TIOGA COUNTY, Pa. ( WETM ) — The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection is accepting water sampling bottles this week after devastating flooding in the county potentially contaminated water supplies.

    According to the Tioga County PA Sheriff’s Office, the DEP is accepting samples Wednesday, Aug. 21, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

    The dropoffs for the samples can be found at the following locations:

    • Harrison Valley Community Center at 112 East Tannery St., Harrison Valley, Pa.
    • Crary Hose Company, Westfield Borough Office at 429 East Main St. in Westfield, Pa.
    • Knoxville Borough Office at 301 East Main St. in Knoxville, Pa.
    • Northern Potter School District administrative building office, 745 Norther Potter Road, Ulysses Pa.

    If residents need a kit, they can get it from the DEP’s Northcentral Regional Office at 208 West Third St., Suite 101, in Williamsport Pa, Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The sheriff’s office adds that water sampling kits can also be bought from feed stores and building centers.
