Tioga football set to defend three-peat

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – The Tioga Tigers are back and ready to defend their crowns.

Coming into the season, the Tigers have won three consecutive New York State Class D Championships and own a 41-game win streak. Each year, Tioga simply reloads and finds success. But this season, they have to replace some big time talent.

New York State Class D Player of The Year Caden Bellis and all-state running back Drew Macumber are both gone due to graduation. Despite those two and several other special players who’ve moved on, Tioga continues to put in the work.

The Tigers open up the season vs. Maryvale on Saturday, September 7 at 3 pm in Waverly. Also of major note, Tioga will host fellow New York State Champion Waverly on Saturday, October 19 at 7 pm.
