ELMIRA, N.Y. ( WETM ) — Walking down a runway involves unwavering focus and concentration for a person to showcase their presence and the fashion they embody. Runway For A Cause CEO Emmi Saufley, emphasizes that maintaining good posture while modeling can convey confidence to the audience.

Confidence is highlighted as the key factor for walking down the runway, whether it is the first time or not for people. Before taking a step, Saufley says that people should keep their back straight and head high to keep the chin parallel to the floor for proper posture. Displaying bad posture, Saufley added, could show that a person is not confident while walking or they may not be comfortable in the outfit they’re wearing.

“If you have good posture, it translates to the audience, that you are excited to be there, that you are proud to represent the designer’s clothing,” said Saufley.

Saufley added that proper posture can enhance the performance and presence of a model on the runway. Anybody new to walking in a runway can focus on a specific point, such as a spot on a wall or an exit sign, to maintain their gaze during the walk and shake off the nerves.
