2025 NASCAR race at Watkins Glen moved back to August

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – NASCAR has released its 2025 schedule, and with it, comes news that the annual race at Watkins Glen International is moving back to August.

This year’s race is coming up on September 15 as Go Bowling at The Glen was made part of NASCAR’s playoff series. Traditionally the race has been part of the regular season toward the end of August.

Next year, the race will be even earlier in the summer, running the weekend of August 8-10 with a triple-header of the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series on Friday, Xfinity series on Saturday, and then the Cup race on Sunday.
