    Four arrested after reported burglary in Bath

    BATH, N.Y. ( WETM ) — Four people were arrested in August after an investigation into a burglary in Bath that lasted more than 10 days.

    According to the Village of Bath Police Department, 45-year-old Daniel A. Garcia, 35-year-old Thomas L. Popps, 45-year-old Shane S. Fox, and 32-year-old Elizabeth R. Walker were arrested on Aug. 28 on the following charges.

    • Garcia was arrested on the charges of burglary in the 3rd degree, a class D felony, petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor, and conspiracy in the 5th degreem a class A misdemeanor.
    • Popps was arrested on the charges of burglary in the 3rd degree, a class D felony, petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor, and comspiracy in the 5th degree, a class A misdemeanor.
    • Fox was arrested on the charges of petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor, and conspiracy in the 5th degree, a class A misdemeanor.
    • Walker was arrested on the charge of criminal trespass in the 3rd degree, a class B misdemeanor.
    Police: Bath woman arrested after chasing kid with knife

    Police say that on Aug. 14, officers were sent to a building on Liberty Street for a reported burglary. The report states someone had gone into the building and stole power tools and hand tools worth more than $2,000.

    Police said that officers looked over the crime scene and found several pieces of evidence including a receipt that led to the identification of one of the suspects. The suspect was seen on camera at a store buying items that were found at the crime scene.

    Further investigating resulted in more suspects being named, and during the more than a week-long investigation some of the stolen items were returned to the owner.

    Police said that video obtained from local businesses showed the suspect taking the tools, and soon after all the evidence was gathered, arrest warrants were approved.

    On Aug. 28, police located and arrested the four people listed above. The suspect were processed with Fox and Walker being released to go back to court at a later date while Garvia and Popps were held at the Steuben County Jail.
