Elmira man arrested on felony stolen property charges after month-long investigation

SOUTHPORT, N.Y. ( WETM ) — An Elmira man was arrested following an investigation from July where police found several stolen items in an area in Southport.

According to the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office, 32-year-old Klarc D. House was arrested on the following charges:

• Criminal possession of Stolen Property in the 3rd degree, a class D felony.
• Criminal possession of stolen property in the 4th degree, a class E felony.

Police said that on July 18 deputies were sent to an area along Sagetown Road in the Town of Southport for a report of suspicious conditions.

When police arrived on the scene they noticed a stolen 1996 Mazda Miata and a stolen 2021 Super Lite camping trailer were found at the given address.

The case was transferred over to the criminal investigation division where units placed House as a suspect, resulting in his arrest.

House was processed in the Southport Town Court and was taken to the Chemung County Jail on $10,000 cash bail and $20,000 bond.
