    Paving, road closures set to begin in Hornell

    HORNELL, N.Y. ( WETM ) –Hornell residents will have to avoid a few streets while they’re being paved this week.

    The Hornell Department of Public Works announced that crews will be paving John Street, Pardee Street, and Leach Avenue on Thursday, Sept. 5. Crews will also pave Pearl Street on Thursday if there’s enough time. The department will pave Bennett Street on Friday, Sept. 6, and Pearl Street if crews didn’t finish paving it on Thursday.

    North Hornell to celebrate 100 years since founding

    John Street, Pardee Street, Leach Avenue, Pearl Street, and Bennett Street will close at 7 a.m. on their respective paving days and reopen after the asphalt cools.

    Residents who live on the roads being paved will not have access in our out of their driveways during the road closures. Vehicles must be off of the street before 7 a.m., and residents who will need to use their cars will have to move their cars out of their driveways before 7 a.m. as well.

    Paving is weather dependent, so this schedule could change.
