MONROE TOWNSHIP, Pa. ( WETM ) –A motorcyclist was killed after a crash in Monroe Township at the end of August.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police Department, a motorcycle traveling on Liberty Corners Road crashed with a tractor on Sunday, Aug. 25. Police say the motorcycle was traveling in the right (westbound) lane shortly before 12:45 p.m. when it approached a tractor with an attached brush hog turning left into a driveway. The driver of the motorcycle laid the motorcycle down in the left (oncoming) lane to avoid crashing.

The tractor was already in the process of turning, and the motorcyclist was unable to avoid it. Police say the motorcycle collided with the brush hog’s left-side rear wheel before coming to a stop on the left side of the road.

The driver of the motorcycle sustained fatal injuries during the crash, and the driver of the tractor was uninjured.

Police have not released the names of the people involved.

The Monroe Fire Company, Guthrie EMS, and the Bradford County Coroner’s Office assisted the Pennsylvania State Police Department at the scene of the crash.
