    Shots fired during domestic incident, one arrested

    VESTAL, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – A Vestal man is facing charges for his involvement in a domestic incident that resulted in shots fired.

    On Monday, at around 3:42 p.m., the Vestal Police Department responded to a residence on Avalon Drive in the Town of Vestal for a domestic dispute.

    During the dispute, 57-year-old Eugene Hendrickson allegedly armed himself with a shotgun. A struggle ensued over the gun and subsequently, a round was fired inside of the residence. There were several people present during the incident, including a juvenile. No one was injured.

    Officers arrived on scene shortly after the dispute and took Hendrickson into custody.

    As part of an investigation, it was also determined that Hendrickson allegedly damaged a vehicle in the driveway of the residence with a baseball bat.

    As a result, Hendrickson was charged with Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree, a Class D Felony; Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, a Class D Felony; and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A Misdemeanor.

    Hendrickson was remanded to the Broome County Jail.
