Sporting goods store opens new Wellsboro location

WELLSBORO, Pa. ( WETM ) — Nessmuk’s Sporting Goods opens a new store on Main Street in Wellsboro. It is focused on serving the community’s interest in fishing, hunting, hiking, and other outdoor activities.

Owner Zack Buck said he wanted to open his business in another place that was more spacious and in an area with a lot of foot traffic. He emphasized that the northern tier of Pennsylvania is known for its hiking trails making it an ideal location for outdoor enthusiasts.

“Part of it is just being here and being able to talk to people and being a gathering place for people that are interested in those activities of hunting and fishing and just camping and hiking,” said Buck. “There’s lots of hiking trails; the northern tier of Pennsylvania has hundreds and hundreds of miles of hiking trails.”

Buck also added that the store will host hunting-related classes on camping, hunting, and animal trapping in the future. A grand opening event is scheduled for October 4, at 6:00 p.m. The store’s regular hours are Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
