Capriotti nets 4 goals in Elmira Notre Dame shutout of Watkins Glen, local scores

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – Elmira Notre Dame boys soccer delivered a dominant win, on a big night of high school sports.

Elmira Notre Dame boys soccer rolled past Watkins Glen, on Tuesday. Led by 4 goals from Sebastian Capriotti, the Crusaders cruised to a 7-0 victory over the Lake Hawks. Antonio Campanella added 2 goals, while Jorge Jánovas del Río tacked on a goal and an assist. In net, Jackson Potter collected his 2nd shutout of the year for Elmira Notre Dame.

The Crusaders will look to continue their impressive start to the season next Tuesday, September 17th. Notre Dame will head to Spencer-Van Etten to battle SVEC at 4:30 p.m.

On the girls side, Maddie Ribble delivered a game winning goal for Horseheads, as they outlasted Maine-Endwell 1-0. Elsewhere in the section, Elmira and Corning picked up dominant road wins.
