Schuyler County Farm Tour Day returns for its fifth year

SCHUYLER COUNTY, N.Y. ( WETM ) – The Schuyler County Farm Tour Day is returning next weekend with a variety of activities for visitors to enjoy.

Debuting a new name in celebration of its fifth year, the Growin’ Around the Glen: Schuyler County Farm Tour Day will return on Saturday, Sept. 28. The first tour destination to open will be at 8 a.m., but times will vary depending on each farm.

Throughout the day, visitors can explore different farms in Schuyler County through a variety of activities including tours, tastings, demonstrations, apple picking and meet and greets with farm animals. Local products will also be available for purchase including produce, hand-crafted cheese, apples, vegetables, jams, cider, donuts, pies and alpaca products.

This year, the event features a brand-new website to replace the CCE Schuyler Farm Tour Weekend page. On this site, visitors can access a variety of information about the event including a list of participating farms; descriptions of what each farm offers; and links to farm websites, social media and locations via Google Maps.

This event is a collaborative effort by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Schuyler County and the Watkins Glen Area Chamber of Commerce to showcase the agritourism in the area and promote it as a destination event for visitors to enjoy.
