Corning High School graduate Ben Terwilliger was named Closer of The Year by the Florence Y’Alls in Kentucky as part of The Frontier League. Terwilliger was stellar on the mound all summer long for the team. The Frontier League is a Major League Baseball (MLB) affiliated league that’s produced several big league talents.

This season, Terwilliger racked up a (4-2) overall record with 39 strikeouts and a 4.75 ERA. Terwilliger appeared in 28 games and threw 36 total innings of work.

The 25-year-old Terwilliger threw for the Lincoln Salt Dogs (American Association) and Florence last season. Ben finished his collegiate career at East Carolina University and played at Barry University in Florida as well as The University of Maine.
