ELMIRA, N.Y. ( WETM ) – Over 80 volunteers are signed up to participate in the ‘Cities RISE’ Community Clean-Up event that will take place on Sept. 27 and Sept. 28 in South Elmira.

The Chemung County Habitat for Humanity is partnering with the City of Elmira to host the two-day event to make improvements in the neighborhood from 9 a.m. to noon on both days.

Throughout the weekend, volunteers will help with trimming hedges, cutting weeds, picking up trash, making minor repairs and painting on Spaulding Ave., Caldwell Ave., Catherine Street and Lormore Street.

Local businesses come together to combat child hunger with Food Bank of the Southern Tier

This is the sixth year in a row that the event will take place through a neighborhood revitalization program that was launched by the New York State Attorney General’s Office to help rebuild New York communities.

For more information about the event, call the Habitat for Humanity office at 607-734-1361 or info@chemungcountyhabitat.org.

well they wouldn't need volunteers to clean up the city if the city of elmira Did their jobs they are paid good money to do like they used to do back in the days of the 70s and 80s instead of dumb things that ridiculous like clock no even looks at or that water front that in time they will shut down like the last one they had
