ROME TOWNSHIP, Pa. ( WETM ) — Part of a road in Rome Township will be closed for more than one month starting next week.

According to PennDOT, North Rome Road (Route 2019) will be closed from 0.1 mile north of Bumpville Road (Route 1046) to 0.5 miles south of East Warner Hill Road starting on Tuesday, Oct. 8. Crews will be repairing and rehabilitating the bridge that carries North Rome Road over a tributary to Bullard Creek during the closure.

A detour using Ghent Hill Road (Route 1022), Sportsmans Road (Route 1057), North Rome Road (Route 1050), Hill Road (Route 1067), and Cotton Hollow Road (Route 1056) will be in place while the road is closed.

The bridgework is expected to be done by the end of November, but inclement weather could push this back.
