    Cohocton to receive over $1M in funding to improve water quality

    COHOCTON, N.Y. ( WETM ) – The Town of Cohocton is receiving over $1 million in funding to support a water infrastructure improvement project, as announced by Congressman Nick Langworthy.

    The funding is a $1.46 million taxpayer-funded federal loan that was awarded to the town through the USDA Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant Program. As stated by Congressman Langworthy, the funding will be used to address water management issues and secure a dependable water supply for residents in Cohocton.

    Corning Community College to receive $200K for cybersecurity program

    Work for the project will include replacing old and deteriorating water distribution lines to improve water quality and pressure, as well as upgrades to reduce service disruptions and cut back on the risk of contamination.

    The total cost for the project is $3.6 million, which will be funded through this grant and local entities to ensure successful completion.
