Sayre man sentenced for assaulting child

BRADFORD COUNTY, Pa. ( WETM ) — A Sayre man will spend some time in jail and on parole for assaulting a child.

According to the Bradford County District Attorney’s Office, Robert Daniel Ciafoni, 38, was sentenced to a minimum of 11 months and a maximum of 23 months and 29 days in the Bradford County Correctional Facility and 36 months of court-ordered supervision after his release. Ciafoni also must pay a $1,000 fine.

Ciafoni’s sentencing comes from the charge of aggravated assault, victim less than 6 years of age. An officer from the Athens Borough Police Department arrested Ciafoni in March for assaulting a child on South Street in February. He pleaded guilty to the second-degree felony at the end of June, and he was sentenced at the end of September.
