Police investigating shots fired in City of Elmira

ELMIRA, N.Y. ( WETM ) – The Elmira Police Department is investigating an incident of shots fired that occurred early Tuesday morning in the City of Elmira.

Police say that on Tuesday, Oct. 8, around 1:18 a.m., EPD was called to the area of Broadway Street and West Ave for the report of gunshots. According to the caller, several gunshots were heard in the area but no other information was provided.

Upon arrival at the scene, police say they found numerous spent shell casings on the road. After further investigation, police say they also found that a home, as well as both vehicles that were parked in the driveway, had been hit multiple times. No injuries or further property damage has been reported at this time.
