    Horseheads man arrested, allegedly threatened person with hammer

    HORSEHEADS, N.Y. ( WETM ) — A Horseheads man is facing charges after allegedly threatening a person with a hammer and a knife.

    Dean Campbell, 32, was arrested after police investigated a reported domestic dispute on Moss Hill Road on Oct. 7. According to the New York State Police Department, Campbell menaced a victim with a hammer and a Ka-Bar knife while acting erratically inside a home.

    Campbell left the residence, was later found on South Avenue in the Village of Horseheads, and was arrested.

    Campbell was charged with second-degree menacing (a class A misdemeanor) and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon (a class A misdemeanor).

    Campbell was processed at the New York State Police Department in Horseheads, and his charges were read in the Town of Big Flats Court. Campbell was released, and he’ll appear in the Town of Horseheads Court at 7 p.m. on Oct. 8.
