18 Sports Plays of the Week – 10/08

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – It’s time for the newest edition of the 18 Sports Plays of the Week!

The 18 Sports team showcases the top plays from the past week in the Twin Tiers. Top honors this week include a clutch soccer goal and four big plays on the gridiron. Ithaca boys soccer’s Erik Einarson kicks-off this weeks list with a game-tying goal, in an eventual overtime win against Elmira.

On the gridiron, Delhi’s Rocco Schnabel hauled in a one-handed touchdown catch, through two big hits, as the Bulldogs knocked off top-ranked Tioga. In Section V, Hornell’s Austyn Gollnitz returns to Plays of the Week with a 53-yard touchdown run against Geneva. Finally, in Section IV 8-Man football, Edison’s Andrew Slaven connected with Paxton Hoover for highlight reel plays, on back-to-back drives in a win over Newfield.
