ELMIRA, N.Y. ( WETM ) — Some West Elmira residents might be without gas until Thursday morning.

According to Chemung County Executive Chris Moss, a NYSEG natural gas line on the 800 block of Fassett Road in Elmira broke on Wednesday, Oct. 9. The break was repaired by mid-afternoon, however, about 109 NYSEG customers in the West Elmira area were still impacted by an outage.

NYSEG is working to restore gas services to those without it. Restoration efforts include restoring service to individual residential gas meters.

Moss says gas services are expected to be restored between late Wednesday evening and early Thursday morning.
