Elmira, N.Y. (WETM) – A few passing clouds will make another good night to see the northern lights! We see more sunshine with cooler air to start off the weekend. More details below:

TONIGHT:

Skies will be mostly clear for the overnight. It will be chilly with lows falling to the upper forties. There will be a breeze coming in from the southwest around 5 to 10 mph.

SATURDAY:

We start off the weekend on Saturday with mostly sunny skies again. It will be cooler with highs in the lower to mid sixties and a breeze from the northwest around 5 to 10 mph.

SUNDAY:

Scattered showers move in throughout the day on Sunday to round out the weekend as a low pressure system moves in. Rain will be heavy at times. It will be cooler with highs in the upper fifties.

NEW WORK WEEK:

Showers will continue, abeit on and off, into the new work week. We will be cooler as well. Highs will be near fifty on Columbus Day. We will be in the upper forties to near fifty for Tuesday into Wednesday. After that, warmth and dry conditions returns to end the work week as a high pressure system moves into the region. Skies will be partly cloudy on Thursday with highs in the upper fifties to near sixty. Then we see mostly sunny skies on Friday with highs in the mid sixties.
