    Syracuse defeats NC State for second straight road win

    RALEIGH, N.C. (WSYR-TV) –

    Syracuse continued its road swing on Saturday night, defeating NC State in Raleigh, North Carolina 24-17.

    SU would take its opening drive, marching 61-yards on 16 plays. Jayden Oh gave ‘Cuse an early 3-0 lead, connecting on a 32-yard field goal.

    It would stay 3-0 until late in the second quarter. Kyle McCord tossed his 18th touchdown pass of the season, finding Umari Hatcher on a 28-yard scoring strike. The Wolfpack answered late in the second, on a 14-yard touchdown pass from CJ Bailey to Justin Joly. SU dominated the first half, running 44 plays, to NC state 22 plays.

    LeQuint Allen capped off Syracuse first drive of the second half (8 plays, 73 yards), hammering in from 4-yards out. SU strikes again early in the fourth quarter. On 4th down, Kyle McCord finds Jackson Meeks for the touchdown. Meeks 4th touchdown of the season.

    Kyle McCord finished 31-42, for 346 yards and two touchdowns. It’s his sixth straight game of 300 or more yards passing (school record).

    SU improves to 5-1 overall (2-1 in the ACC).

    Next up for Syracuse, a trip to Pittsburgh to take on the 22nd ranked Panthers on Thursday, October 24th.
