KNOXVILLE, Pa. ( WETM ) – A benefit event to support homeless animals is returning for its 10th year on Saturday in Knoxville.

The 10th Annual Homeless Animal Benefit hosted by Jerry and Helen Gaye will take place on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Knoxville VFW on 703 Boatman Road. Doors for the event will open at 8 a.m. and drawings for the auctions will start at 3 p.m. There is no charge to attend the event.

Throughout the day, attendees can enjoy many festivities including auctions, a yard sale, a 50/50 raffle, live bluegrass and old classic music (pending musicians’ availability) and food. Food options for purchase will include stew, burgers, hotdogs, chips and more.

This year, the event will feature a large Chinese auction with a new ticketing system than in previous years. Beginning on Friday, Oct. 18, items up for auction will be viewable and tickets can be purchased starting at 5 p.m. until the drawings at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Second Chance Animal Sanctuaries , a nonprofit organization that provides rehabilitation for homeless and at-risk animals in Tioga County, Pennsylvania, and finds them loving new homes.
