Stabbing in Ithaca sends one to trauma center

ITHACA, NY ( WETM ) — One man was sent to a trauma center after being stabbed in the chest in an Ithaca apartment complex Tuesday morning, Ithaca Police announced.

Officers responded to a reported stabbing at 118 E Green St in Ithaca at around 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15. The male victim is said to have been stabbed in the chest, bleeding out upon officers arriving to the scene. Police provided the man with first aid to control the bleeding until he could be transported to a trauma center nearby.

In an interview with the victim, police learned the stabbing occurred on the eighth floor of the Asteri Ithaca apartment building. Police have not identified a potential suspect at the time of this reporting.

Police say the stabbing victim is in stable condition at this time.
