    Elmira volleyball and Edison girls soccer fall at home, local scores

    ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – Elmira volleyball and Edison girls soccer fell in late season action at home.

    Elmira volleyball fell to Ithaca in a clash of Section IV powerhouses, on Tuesday. The Express took a 3-0 loss to the Lil’ Red, despite 3 back and forth sets (25-20, 25-21, 25-15). Elsewhere in the section, Corning swept Horseheads with a big night from Gracie Work. Work delivered 12 kills, 9 digs, and 2 aces for the Hawks.

    In girls soccer, Horseheads picked up an overtime win in a special game. The Blue Raiders outlasted Waverly with an overtime goal from Maddie Ribble, as the team raised Ovarian Cancer Awareness with a “Teal Out game.” Across the section, Edison fell to Union Springs and Elmira picked up a shutout victory on the road.
