Pine City man arrested on DWI felonies

ELMIRA, N.Y. ( WETM ) — A Pine City man is facing multiple charges after allegedly driving drunk and leaving the scene of a crash in Elmira last month.

According to the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office, Daniel L. Maldonado, 35, was arrested on Oct. 15. He was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated with a previous conviction, and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. All of these charges are class E felonies.

Maldonado was also charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury motor vehicle accident (a class B misdemeanor) after allegedly being involved in a car crash on Water Street in the Town of Elmira on Sept. 9.

Maldonado was given appearance tickets to appear in Elmira Town Court at a later date.
