ELMIRA, N.Y. ( WETM ) — Two cars crashed at an intersection on the Clemens Center Parkway in Downtown Elmira on Wednesday evening.

A maroon Ford sedan struck a white Chevrolet Traverse at the intersection of the Clemens Center Parkway and Water Street at about 6:45 p.m. on Oct. 16. An officer from the Elmira Police Department told an 18 News Reporter at the scene that the Ford was traveling north on the parkway when the Chevrolet turned left towards East Water Street into its path. Both vehicles had a green light.

No one was injured, according to the Elmira Police Department.

The Ford sedan sustained significant damage to its front left side centralized in the area of the headlight. The headlight on the passenger side was destroyed, the front bumper became detached on one side, and the metal above the front passenger side wheel well peeled back during the crash. The Chevrolet SUV now has a large dent on its back passenger side door.

Traffic was still able to flow through the intersection of the Clemens Center Parkway while the Elmira Police Department cleared the scene.
