    Four arrested in connection to gang assault in Ithaca

    ITHACA, N.Y. ( WETM ) – Four people have been arrested in connection to a gang assault incident that occurred at the Ithaca Commons in August.

    Reports from the Ithaca Police Department state that three juveniles and one adult were identified as the people involved in a reported dispute that occurred on the 200 block of East State Street on Aug. 24 . Upon identification, the four involved were arrested on the charge of gang assault in the second degree, a class C felony.

    Steuben County Jail inmate charged with assault

    The three juveniles were turned to Tompkins County Family Court and were released to their parents. The adult, identified as 21-year-old Kaeden Denmark, of Spencer, had his charges read to him in Ithaca City Court and was returned to the Tompkins County Jail.

    Previously, the incident was under investigation as a potential hate crime, but after a thorough investigation, police say that there was no evidence found to support the claim.
